FAQ

Common Questions

Which routers does OKWiFi work with?

OKWiFi works with MikroTik routers today: the console generates a RouterOS script that sets up RADIUS, the hotspot, the walled garden and heartbeats. Other RADIUS-capable gateways are on the roadmap.

Can one router run more than one captive portal?

Yes. Each network (SSID or VLAN) on a gateway can point to its own portal profile, so a hotel can run guest, premium and conference Wi-Fi from one MikroTik.

How do guests sign in?

By mobile OTP (sent over WhatsApp or SMS), with a membership login, with a voucher code, or with free access where you allow it. You choose the methods per portal.

Can guests pay for Wi-Fi online?

Yes. Guests can buy a plan on the captive portal with UPI, cards or net banking through your own payment gateway, and they are online as soon as the payment is confirmed.

How does the partner wallet work?

Each partner keeps a prepaid wallet. Selling a plan deducts the platform’s share according to your revenue rules, and every change is recorded in an immutable ledger with the balance before and after.

Is my data safe?

Each operator’s data is kept separate, secrets such as gateway and payment credentials are encrypted at rest, and every important action is recorded in an audit log.
